Lisa Raye is an excellent American actress and fashion designer.

She graduated from Eastern Illinois University.

Raye first started her show-biz career as a model doing fashion shows in churches and high schools in her native home Chicago.

Lisa made her acting debut with the lead role of Lisa Ray McCoy in the movie "Reasons" directed by Monty Ross in 1996.

She guest appeared in her first television show "In the House" [2 episodes: 1997] followed by "The Parent 'Hood" in 1989.

Lisa performed the break-through role of Neesee James in the long-running television series "All of Us" [51 episodes, 2003-2007].

She received Image Award nomination for her out-standing performance in the television show "All of Us" [51 episodes, 2003-2007].

Lisa Raye shot to fame with the movie "The Players Club" in 1998 which was directed and written by Ice Cube.

She also acted in the comedy/romance movie "The Wood" in 1999, written by Rick Famuyiwa and Todd Boyd starring Elayn Taylor, Omar Epps and many other famous Hollywood stars.

Lisa later performed in several movies like "The Cheapest Movie Ever Made" [2000], "Civil Brand" [2002], "Love Chronicles" [2003], "Beauty Shop" [2005], "Envy" [2005] and other movies.

She acted the role of Victoria in her first made-for-television movie Rhapsody in 2000.
